Student Finance England Explained: How to Fund Your University Degree
One of the biggest concerns for prospective students is how to pay for university. The good news is that Student Finance England (SFE) provides government-backed loans that cover tuition fees and contribute towards your living costs.
Tuition Fee Loans cover the full cost of your course fees, up to £9,250 per year. You do not pay this back until you are earning above the repayment threshold, currently £25,000 per year.
Maintenance Loans help with your day-to-day living costs such as rent, food, and travel. The amount you receive depends on your household income and whether you are living at home or away from home.
To be eligible for Student Finance, you generally need to be a UK resident, studying at a recognised institution, and this must be your first undergraduate degree. However, there are exceptions — for example, if your previous degree was studied abroad or if significant time has passed since your last study.
At Euniassist, we help you understand your eligibility and guide you through the Student Finance application process from start to finish. Speak to one of our advisors today.
